about

Spring Grass - This song is directly inspired by one of our favorite artists, Bright Eyes; specifically the song "Bowl of Oranges". Lyrically, the song is about being trapped in daily life as an average consumer in the city, attempting to find happiness. This happiness is personified the spring grass, which becomes increasingly difficult to find as an adult.

lyrics

Don't want to be an accountant
sit at a computer
my white mug would be empty
I'd be a human calculator

would rather lay in the spring grass
count the clouds sheep by sheep now
wear a map on my t shirt
with a marked location

Thats where i want to be now
pinch sun rays between my fingers
dirt on the bottom of my feet
skip rocks on waves peak by peak

Im trapped in the city
with no motivation
when i take a picture
my camera prints a cemetery

Use to be pretty
from the highway
now factory smoke
is suffocating the winter skyline

When rock bottom hit me
in a office corner of depression
darkness pinned me to the floor
1 2 3 and i lost the fight

now who knows why were living
sometimes you look for somethin simple
my room mate made me breakfast
brushed the dirt off of my shoulders

Im trying to learn the lesson
seasons flip like calender pages
change is the only constant
except this misery that always lingers
